If you as a beginner follow these tips I assure you that your chances of winning in the chess game will ramp up quickly from day 1 itself .

1) Occupy the centre with pawns :-
This doesn't mean that you should fill your centre with pawns , this means that  in the beginning of the game you should try pressuring the centre with minor pieces to gain advantage over your opponent . Start by moving pawns in front of your king or queen .

2) Develop minor pieces for exerting pressure in the centre :-
Minor pieces means your pawns , knight and bishops , by developing them for pressuring the center  you will have great advantage over your opponent  , because the centre is the most strategic part on the board in the beginning  and if you grip that before your opponent then your chances of winning goes up .

3) Don't move your minor pieces more than once in the opening :-
You now know how to open it up but remember not to move them multiple times as your opponent will be at advantage by doing so , what logic behind it is that when you waste moving minor pieces more than once  you will loose moves that can develop more minor pieces and hence more pieces developed means that your grip in the centre is strong .

4)Don't develop your queen too early :-
Your queen is the most powerful  piece on the board so keeping it safe will be wiser decision in the game , if you develop it early on without great strategy you will put your queen in vulnerable position and soon can loose it as well  . If you have a great strategy for moving it early and things go according to your plan  then it's a good  decision to move your queen  early  otherwise don't make that mistake .

5) Castle  as soon as possible  :-
The main objective of the game is to checkmate your opponent's king , so it's better to keep your king in a safe position before it is trapped , castling will not only help you by keeping king safe but also bring out your rook in game which will give you match winning advantage .

6) Remember your opponent will also be fighting for centre   so be dynamic according to your opponent's moves :-
Your opponent will try hard for centre as you do but don't be static in terms of those conservative moves you play everytime which had once made you win a match or two , try different moves altogether in every game because you never know what your opponent might know about you weakness .

7) Beware of opponents threats:-
After few initial moves of the game both of you will have your plan on how to checkmate each other's king so  your opponent might have planned the checkmate strategy against you unless you are playing any time-constrained game such as blitz and bullets , take your time and think before you move your pieces , think what might go wrong if you played that move and then move  it .

I hope this was helpful to you if you don't know the rules which are discussed in this blog such as castling then I suggest you to take a look in this blog for knowing all the rules .
Thank you !
